Hyderabad: The surge in COVID-19 cases in Telangana continued with 3,840 fresh infections, the highest single day spike ever, pushing the tally to 3,41,885, the government said on Friday.
The toll rose to 1,797 with nine more fatalities, a bulletin said, providing details as of 8 PM on April 15.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 505, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri (407) and Nizamabad (303).

Hyderabad, April 17 : Telangana continues to record successively higher daily Covid tallies with each passing day, and on Saturday, the state registered 4,446 new cases and 12 deaths.
The previous daily high of 3,840 new cases and nine deaths were reported on Friday.
Twelve persons succumbed to the virus during the 24-hour period ending 8 p.m. on Friday. This is the highest fatalities in a day during the second wave of the pandemic.
While the cumulative death toll stands at 1,809, the case fatality rate remains stable at 0.52 per cent against the national average of 1.2 per cent.

Hyderabad,Apr 17 (UNI) Continuing the upward trend in daily COVID-19 cases, Telangana registered 4,446 fresh Coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Friday,which is one of the highest single-day spike, taking the total infection count to 3,46,331 so far.
In yet another high,the state recorded the current year s highest 12 fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours pushing the overall death toll till date to 1,809 translating a case fatality rate of 0.52 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.2 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin here on Saturday.
As many as 1,414 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide to take the total number of recoveries so far to 3,11,008 constituting a recovery rate of 89.8 per cent while the National recovery rate of 87.2 per cent.
