The child affairs department’s director Dang Hoa Nam said on Monday afternoon that the proposition was sent to the Authority of Information Security under the Ministry of Information and Communications and the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-Tech Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Public Security. Timmy TV, a content provider active on both Facebook and YouTube, has uploaded videos with content and images that are toxic, superstitious, creepy, and are unsuitable for children, affecting their healthy development, according to the proposition.

Vietnam ranked 19th worldwide in 2020 in the number of cyber threats, a decrease of 14.2% to 64.35 million, according to Kaspersky Security Network (KSN), a global cybersecurity firm. In a report, KSN said 39.1% of Vietnamese online users were attacked last year as the country fell two places in the list of the most attacked countries and territories to 19th place.  The Vietnam Security Summit 2020 held on November 10.
