Man fatally shot by police in Los Angeles backed up into police car: Report Carly Roman © Provided by Washington Examiner The man who was fatally shot by police Saturday afternoon allegedly backed his vehicle into a police car. At approximately 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department were responding to a radio call when a car pulled in front of them, stopped, and backed up into the police car, the department tweeted. The driver, who was wearing body armor, exited his vehicle and held his right hand behind him as he moved toward officers who had exited their patrol car, according to the department. The man then began counting down from three and moving his arm to the front of his body, at which point shots were fired, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, officers said.
