Keisha Mitchell, 40, one of three victims of a deadly fire in their First Avenue Chapman Lane, St Michael home last Saturday, has left Barbados for further treatment.
The fire claimed the life of Keisha’s mother, Janice Mitchell, 58, on Tuesday. The third victim, Keisha’s one-year-old daughter, was also hospitalised.
Janice’s partner, Anthony Amey, said yesterday that Keisha had been airlifted on Thursday night but he did not know where. However, reports from reliable sources said she was headed to Florida.
“I understand she got airlifted overseas. She isn’t doing too good because she has to go somewhere to get her burns dealt with,” he said. (CA)

Anthony Amey sat slumped in a chair on his patio yesterday afternoon while reflecting on the good times he shared with partner Janice Mitchell.
His feelings were conflicted.
He felt defeated that they would be unable to relive those moments but he was also fuming about the way she died.
Janice, 58; her daughter Keisha Mitchell 40; and Keisha’s one-year-old daughter, were rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) early Saturday morning after a fire that started around 2:30 a.m. at their 1st Avenue Chapman Lane, St Michael home.
