LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) A 48-year-old Louisiana man was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in prison for distributing child pornography, federal prosecutors said.
A news release said U.S. District Judge Michael Juneau also ordered Anthony Sal Melancon Jr. of St. Martinville on Wednesday to serve 15 years of supervised release.
He was investigated after a man whose wife was having an affair with Melancon found messages from Melancon on his wife’s laptop and reported them to authorities, according to the U.S. Attorney s Office for Louisiana s Western District.
According to prosecutors, evidence at Wednesday’s hearing showed that Melancon had asked the woman if she would have sex with him and a minor girl and on Jan. 21, 2017, sent her a pornographic photo of a prepubescent girl “that he claimed he had performed sexual acts upon.”
