Senior forward Desiree Elmore is now a member of the 1,000-point club.
In her final home game as a Pirate, Elmore broke the millenary point threshold in Seton Hall’s win over Providence and recorded a double-double with game-highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Elmore’s path to reaching the milestone in her collegiate basketball career did not come easy though. Before arriving at Seton Hall, Elmore was a five-star recruit at Syracuse and seen as the crown jewel of head coach Quentin Hillsman’s recruiting class. Though she saw minutes off the bench her freshman season with the Orange, a head injury midway through the season and a tough transitional period to the college level didn’t make for a banner first year.

After losing to No. 2 University of Connecticut on Wednesday night and falling to 4th place in the Big East, Seton Hall’s losing streak continued with Saturday’s loss to Creighton.
The Pirates couldn’t get it done at home and lost to Creighton in overtime by one point. Just as they did in their loss to UConn, Seton Hall held the lead over the Bluejays until a fourth quarter defensive collapse led to them giving up the lead and eventually the game.

Coming off an upset loss to Albany on Sunday, the Pirates looked to bounce back with a statement win against No. 3 University of Connecticut in the Huskies’ first game back in the Big East since 2013.
Looking slow out the gates, the Pirates’ biggest deficit in the first quarter was 13 points, but a late push in the second quarter, led by Lauren Park-Lane who had 19 points at the half, brought the score to within eight going into half-time. It was another rough night from beyond the arc for the Pirates as they finished the half having shot 1-13.
