A former world number one in men’s doubles, Boe won silver alongside Carsten Mogensen at the London Olympics in 2012, as well as the All-England Championships in 2011 and 2015. He retired last year.

Image Source: IANS News New Delhi, Jan 29 : Star Indian men s doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be coached by Denmark s 2012 London Olympics silver medallist Matthias Boe in the run up to this year s Olympics in Tokyo. The Sports Authority of India (SAI), while announcing his appointment on Friday, said that former men s doubles world No.1 Boe will also be help out Ashwini Ponnappa and N. Sikki Reddy, who are 15th in the rankings for Olympic qualification in women s doubles and also form mixed doubles pairs with Rankireddy and Shetty respectively.

The decision to hire the services of Boe was taken on Friday by the Sports Authority of India s (SAI) Mission Olympic Cell under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme. Boe, a silver medallist at the 2012 London Olympics, has been roped in on the request of Chirag and Satwik. Satwik and Chirag are currently ninth in the Race to Tokyo with 16 pairs eligible. During his tenure, Boe will also help other doubles team under the TOPS mixed doubles pair of Satwik and Ashwini Ponnappa and women s doubles duo of Ashwini and Sikki Reddy.
