The electoral politics is a game of numbers and the combined votes of these parties will be significant number which the ruling coalition can least afford to ignore. Guwahati (Assam) [India], January 20 (ANI): AssamCongress on Tuesday said that five political parties will form an alliance with it to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state Assembly polls scheduled for later this year.
While addressing a press conference in Guwahati, Ripun Bora, President, AssamCongress said, In upcoming Assam Assembly polls, Congress, All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), Communist Party of India (CPI), CPI(Marxist), CPI(Marxist-Leninist) and Anchalik Gana Morcha will fight together to oust BJP. We will keep our doors open for other regional and anti-BJP parties to join us.
The parties, including the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), CPI, CPI (M), CPI (ML) and Anchalik Gana Morcha, said they had decided to team up to oust the ruling BJP from power in the state polls, which are likely to be held in April.

According to reports, BJP leader Narayan Chandra Borkotoky here in Guwahati, addressing a press meet has sought suggestions from the voters to include in the party manifesto.
