GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA is likely to get 73-81 seats in the upcoming Assam Assembly polls, predicts the ABP-C Voter survey.
As per the poll prediction, the BJP led-Assam government will comfortably cross the magic number of 63 while UPA is projected to win around 36-44 seats.
It is to be mentioned that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) along with its allied regional party- Asom Gana Parishad, United People s Party Liberal and Gana Suraksha Party is set to secure a strong foothold in the state of Assam.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA), led by Congress and consisting of the Left parties looks to regain power in the state with roping in Badruddin Ajmal s All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF), which commands a significant support base among Muslims of Bengali descent.
The contention over the 1985 Assam Accord and National Register of Citizens (NRC), liely to be the hot debate during the elections.
The elections to the 126-member Assam assembly will be held in April-May 2021. The 2016 polls resulted in a fractured mandate and no party had an absolute majority.
The BJP is the single largest party with 60 MLAs, while its allies Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and BPF have 14 and 12 lawmakers, respectively. The ruling coalition also has the support of an Independent MLA.
Upbeat after the Bharatiya Janata Party's remarkable performance in two autonomous council elections Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) party national chief Jagat Prakash Nadda on Monday claimed that the BJP was going to win more than 100 seats in the upcoming Assam Assembly polls that are scheduled to be held in April-May 2021.
Any decision on alliance with AIUDF, Left parties or any other party will be made following consultations with our party workers, Congress general secretary in-charge of Assam, Jitendra Singh, said.

“We have neither finalised any alliance with the AIUDF nor with the Left Front for the Assam polls,” Congress general secretary in charge of the State Jitendra Singh said after a party meeting in Hajo near Guwahati on Friday.
