AYODHYA: All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) member Zafaryab Jilani said on Wednesday that the mosque which is planned to come up in Ayodhya following last year s Supreme Court verdict was against the Waqf Act and illegal under the Shariat laws.
Athar Hussain, the secretary of a trust formed to build the mosque in Ayodhya, however, said everyone interprets the Shariat in their own way and when the land has been allotted under the directive of the Supreme Court, it cannot be illegal.
The blueprint of the mosque and a hospital to be built on a five-acre land in Ayodhya s Dhannipur village was unveiled on Saturday at the Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF) office in Lucknow.

NEW DELHI (AA): A new design was unveiled for a mosque in the northern Indian city of Ayodhya as part of the settlement of the controversial Babri Mosque case. However, many Muslim organisations have rejected the proposed building of new mosque. They say the mosque should be built where the original Babri mosque was.
Torn down by Hindu hardliners in 1992, the 16th-century Babri mosque in the state of Uttar Pradesh, has rattled India’s communal fabric for decades.

LUCKNOW: A debate has been raging over the legitimacy of the proposed mosque at Dhannipur village in Ayodhya just four days after its blueprint was made public. While the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has yet again opposed the proposal of the mosque being built on the land allocated by the UP government, UPSCWB has rejected its contention saying it had paid heavy stamp duty to the state government towards its processing.
However, AIMPLB has also contended that such a place of worship obtained as a barter would be against the tenets of Islam and Shariat.
