Washington, Mar 1: In his first public speech since leaving office in January, former US president Donald Trump indicated he might launch a third presidential bid in 2024, called for Republican Party unity and slammed the Joe Biden administration, saying it was "anti-jobs" and "anti-science".

Come April, All Nippon Airways will be switching to a digital format for all printed publications, making them available on the Internet and the ANA mobile app. Physical copies of its inflight magazine Tsubasa Global Wings or any newspapers will no longer be carried on board, thereby reducing the risk of disease transmission through high-touch surfaces while cutting the company’s carbon footprint by approximately 1,540 tons of paper emissions per year. Aircraft deferrals will play a key role in Asian airline recovery

Premium Analysis Most Asia-Pacific airlines have been pursuing aircraft delivery delays in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Although several airlines acted quickly and secured deferrals relatively early in the pandemic, some important negotiations have occurred more recently. These latest arrangements highlight the differing approaches to deferrals being taken by the region’s airlines.   Korean Air and Singapore Airlines are recent examples of airlines making substantial deferrals to push back spending commitments while also preserving their long term fleet renewal strategies. The major Japanese airlines, however, are only making minimal postponements. The independent LCCs are generally trying to spread out their vast numbers of deliveries while some, such as IndiGo, are taking their aircraft as scheduled.
