Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri announced the inaugural flight virtually and said, I would like to thank all the stakeholders who have done a tremendous job to get start the Bareilly flight under Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme. We have a strong team of women in the aviation sector, with 16 per cent of staff controlling the Air Traffic Controller (ATC). Today is a matter of great pride for us because all the women are commanding the inaugural flight of Alliance Air and other 11 more flights from different route under all-women crew, he added.

Last year, the government had awarded Alliance Air the Delhi-Bareilly route under the UDAN-4 bidding process. The maiden flight was operated by an all women-crew on the occasion of International Women s Day

The Delhi-Bareilly flight will operate on four days - Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
On International Women s Day, an Alliance Air all-women crew operated the inaugural Delhi-Bareilly flight. The flight landed at the recently constructed Bareilly Airport, Uttar Pradesh and was given a water-cannon salute.
The Trishul Military Airbase in Bareilly was upgraded for commercial flight operations under the government s RCS-UDAN scheme. Last year, the government had awarded Alliance Air the Delhi-Bareilly route under the UDAN-4 bidding process. The airline is flying its ATR 72 600 aircraft on this route. In an attempt to acknowledge the efforts of women in breaking down the stereotypes in erstwhile male-dominated maritime sector, Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has flagged off an all-women crew onboard Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) vessel MT Swarna Krishna, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said on Sunday.
