In the
list published on July 16, INEC excluded the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and picked Michael Umeoji over Charles Soludo for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
In a ruling, a federal high court sitting in Awka, ordered INEC to
recognise Soludo as the APGA governorship candidate.
Similarly, a federal high court in Awka ordered INEC to
publish the nameof Valentine Ozigbo as candidate of the PDP.

declared Ugochukwu Uba as the PDP candidate for the governorship election.
Reacting to the development, Festus Okoye, INEC’s commissioner for information and voter education, in an interview on Channels Television, on Tuesday, said the particulars of candidates published by the commission still remains.

The Niger State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended its former governorship candidate, Alhaji Umar Nasko over allegations of anti-party activities.
The suspension came from Magama Local Government Area where he was alleged to have supported the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the just concluded by-election for the Magama/Rijau federal constituency with funds and campaign vehicles.
The letter dated 23rd July was signed by the PDP local government chairman, Aminu Mohammed and the assistant Secretary, Tasiu Musa.
Part of the letter reads, “The former gubernatorial candidate of Niger State, Alhaji Umar Muhammed Nasko is hereby suspended from the party in Magama Local Government Area.

Awka – The immediate past State Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Nnamdi Nwangwu, has refuted reports that some party chieftains were considering moving the party structure to another party.
The PDP in Anambra has since its primary election of June 26, been torn into litigations, over who is the authentic candidate of the party for the November 6 Governorship election.
Some aspirants who lost in the primary election have also been alleged to be making plans to leave the party to continue their ambitions on other platforms.
