With this week’s inauguration of the party’s Women and Youth Mobilization Team, preparation for All Progressives Congress’ forthcoming nationwide membership registration and re-validation exercise has taken a new leap.
While inaugurating the mobilization team at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, Yobe State Governor and Chairman of APC Caretaker and Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Mai-Mala Buni, said the appointment of the tentative ten-member committee is an extension of his team’s reconciliatory moves and “breath of new life into the party.”
He said: “You are expected to mount a rigorous sensitization programme to effectively mobilize every member of the party, especially women and youth, to either revalidate their membership or register afresh.
The four major political parties that have shown interest in fielding candidates include: the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Young progressive Party (YPP).
The PDP has two senators at the Senate; seven members at the House Representatives and six members at the state assembly.
APGA which is the ruling party in the state has four members at the House of Representatives but none at the senate. The YPP has a senator at the senate while the APC has none at the both chambers

The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has enjoined governorship aspirants in state election scheduled for November 6 to stop attacking him in their campaigns.
He implored them to market their work plans devoid of vulgar statements and personal attacks.
Obiano, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, will conclude his second tenure in office on March 17, 2022.
Most governorship candidates in the opposition parties have been vilifying the governor, accusing him of under developing the state and piling up a high debt burden on the state.
But in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, on Thursday, Obiano admonished opposition parties to go about their campaigns with decorum.
A fresh crisis is brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) as former state chairmen of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), one of the legacy parties that coalesced to form the ruling party, have formed a new political association, New Nigeria Movement.
