Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan has announced a $5.6 million support package for the state’s veteran community as well as $430,000 to be put toward training support dogs for veterans with PTSD.
The funding will include an additional $1 million per annum for the Anzac Day Trust which distributes money to ex-service organisations such as Legacy and the RSL.
The premier also said his government would ensure Anzac Day services go ahead as planned this year.
“We’ve worked with the RSL in a COVIDSafe way of doing it,” he said.
“We expect a major dawn service at Kings Park, plus services across the community.

The Tasmanian Liberal Government is committed to supporting the State’s more than 10,500 veterans and ex service personnel, and their families.
Today, I am pleased to announce that Launceston Legacy and Hobart Legacy will receive $20,000 each per year from our Government to support the families of veterans and ex service personnel.
Launceston Legacy formerly received funding through the Anzac Day Trust, which was wound up by the Parliament at the end of 2020.
The new funding model, currently being implemented by our Government, will increase funding to Launceston and Hobart legacies by approximately $15,000 per annum.
