Woodford County Adds COVID-19 Death; Tri-County s Toll Unchanged

Joe Deacon / WCBU A Woodford County woman is the Tri-County area’s lone new fatality linked to COVID-19 in the past day. The woman was in her 70s and a resident of Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. Her death was announced Tuesday by Tri-County health officials. However, the region s death toll since the start of the pandemic remained at 586 as one victim previously attributed to Peoria County was transferred to a county outside the area. Just five deaths have been added in the past eight days, with no more than one each day. The latest data indicates an addition of 66 coronavirus infections in the region since Monday, bringing the Tri-County’s case count to 34,668. Twenty-one COVID patients are in Peoria-area hospitals, including five in intensive care units.

PEORIA  Three Woodford County residents have died after contracting COVID-19, public health officials said on Thursday. One man in his 50s and a woman in her 80s, neither of whom lived at long-term care facilities, were among. A third person, a woman in her 90s, lived at Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka. That brings the area s total death toll to 537. Woodford County now has 63 total deaths.  The Tri-County Area reported 75 new cases since Wednesday with 35 of those coming from Peoria County. Peoria County now has 16,399. Woodford County added two cases to reach 3,584.  The remaining 38 were from Tazewell County which now has 13,114.

2 Woodford County residents die after COVID infection; Peoria area adds 205 new cases PEORIA Two Woodford County residents are the latest to succumb to the COVID-19 virus as the pandemic continues to spread in central Illinois. Both were women in their 90s. One lived at Apostolic Christian Home of Eureka while the other was not associated with a long-term care facility. Their deaths bring Woodford County s total to 56 and the Tri-County s total to 465 since March. Public health officials reported 205 new cases within the three counties, bringing the overall total to 29,167. That breaks down to Peoria County having 14,425, an increase of 84 since Monday. Tazewell County s pandemic total is now 11,588, up 103 from 24 hours ago. Woodford County added 18 cases, reaching 3,154.
