One Person Killed In Madison County Crash Officials in Madison County are investigating a fatal crash that happened overnight. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year old Crystal Savage of Cortland was traveling west on Crumb Hill Road in Georgetown just after 1:00 when she collided with a tractor-trailer. Deputies say Savage and a passenger, 29-year old Brittney Casler of Cuyler. NY, had to be extricated from the vehicle. Savage was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Quentin Harrison Jr., of Syracuse, died after he was shot in the 1400 block of Midland Avenue, said Sgt. Matthew Malinowski, Syracuse Police Department spokesman. He was 26 years old. Harrison’s death marks the sixth homicide in Syracuse this year. The shooting on Midland Avenue happened just after 1:30 p.m. near West Colvin Street and the IBB Mini Mart.

A new clinic at Upstate University Hospital is speeding up care for kids with autism and other disabilities who used to wait up to two years for appointments. The Golisano Center for Special Needs, located in the Madison Irving Medical Center at 475 Irving Ave., has hired more doctors, psychologists, nurses and other specialists to reduce wait times. It has a staff of 54 people. At the end of March, the center’s wait time was about 2 months. Henry Roane, the center’s executive director, said he wants to cut that down to 30 days. Families should not face long waits and struggle to coordinate care for their children, he said.
