28-year-old woman stabbed several times on Syracuse’s South Side, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. A 28-year-old woman was stabbed multiple times early Saturday morning on Syracuse’s South Side, according to Syracuse police.
The woman was taken to Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle and is expected to survive, Syracuse police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Malinowski said.
The stabbing was reported at about 1:30 a.m., police said. It was reported to have occurred in the 1400 block of South Salina Street, police said.
The woman’s identity was not immediately released by police.
Police ask anyone with information about the stabbing to call the Syracuse Police Department at 315-442-5222.
How state police say an Oneida County man broke into a 67-year-old man’s home, beat him

New York Mills, N.Y. An Oneida County man was accused of breaking into a 67-year-old man’s home Thursday night and beating him, according to the New York State Police.
New York Mills police officers responded to the reported home invasion at 8:04 p.m. on Maple Street, troopers said in a news release today.
Zachary Wojcik, 31, from New York Mills broke into the home of the unidentified 67-year-old man and caused injuries to the man’s face, troopers said. The man also suffered a severe cut to his leg, troopers said.
Man in critical condition after being shot in back on Syracuse’s South Side, police say

Syracuse, N.Y. A 23-year-old man is in critical condition Thursday night after he was shot in the back on Syracuse’s South Side, according to Syracuse police.
The man was taken to Upstate University Hospital just before 9 p.m. in a personal vehicle, Syracuse police spokesman Sgt. Matthew Malinowski said.
The shooting was reported to have occurred in the 200 block of Landon Avenue, police said.
The man is in critical condition, police said. He was not immediately identified by police.
Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call the Syracuse Police Department at 315-442-5222.
21-year-old Oswego man dies after motorcycle crash in Clay

Maliek Edwards, of Fulton, was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital, deputies said Friday.
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. on Morgan Road, according to deputies.
The driver of a Saturn SUV was trying to turn left from Morgan Road onto Avon Parkway when the SUV collided with the motorcycle Edwards was riding southbound, deputies said.
Deputies are still investigating the crash.
