CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â The Corpus Christi - Nueces County Public Health District has scheduled a mass vaccination drive-thru clinic at the old Christus Spohn Hospital Memorial site, 2606 Hospital Boulevard, on Friday, August 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
In addition, COVID-19 testing sites remain open throughout the city.
Vaccinations and COVID-19 testing are provided
free to the public.
Amistad Community Health Clinic, located at 1533 South Brownlee Blvd., offers COVID-19 testing on Tuesdays and Thursdays only. Individuals must call (361) 886-3050 to schedule an appointment. This location provides both âsickâ and âwellâ testing.
First case of COVID-19 Delta variant confirmed in Nueces County

The first case of the COVID-19 Delta variant in Nueces County has been confirmed by the Mayo Clinic Laboratories, the public health district announced on Friday.
The county said the person the sample came from was a woman in her 30s or 40s who works as a health care worker and was fully vaccinated when she became sick in mid-June.
The woman was tested and found to be a breakthrough case. She spread the virus to her other family members who were not vaccinated. She and her family have fully recovered.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â Free COVID-19 testing sites will be available again starting next week in Nueces County.
Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District announced the new testing sites Friday.
Amistad Community Health Clinic, located at 1533 South Brownlee Boulevard will have free testing on Tuesdays and Thursdays, by appointment only, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.. Call (361) 886-3050 to schedule an appointment.
The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District, located at 1702 Horne Road, is offering free, drive-thru COVID-19 testing on Wednesdays, by appointment only, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Call (361) 826-1339 to schedule an appointment.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas â Medics braved the cold temperatures Saturday morning as they administered several COVID-19 vaccines to the public.
La Amistad Community Health Clinic held a clinic at the old Spohn Memorial Hospital from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. They were giving the second dose of the Moderna vaccine to several patients. Medical workers along with law enforcement officers directing traffic were all bundled up. They wore layers of clothing, jackets, beanies, and gloves to keep warm. The officers topped their layers with a reflective vest.
