Wednesday in the City Hall Ceremonial Room, Mayor Brandon M. Scott officially appointed Jim Shea to the role of City Solicitor. The appointment follows Monday s City Council confirmation of Shea.

Shea has served the Scott administration as Acting City Solicitor since January. As City Solicitor, Shea will lead the Law Department and serve as legal advisor to the City. By Charter, he will also serve as a member of the Board of Estimates. Jim brings unmatched legal and civic experience to City Hall, and he is committed to charting a new course for Baltimore, said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. His dedication to good lawyering, equity and accountability will make him an effective City Solicitor and critical part of my team as we work to build a better city.

Vermont Business Magazine Peter W Hall, a Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, a former United States Attorney for the District of Vermont, a prominent figure in the Rutland, Vermont, community, and a beloved colleague, family member and friend, died today in Rutland. He was 72 years old. His passing was announced by Chief Judge Debra Ann Livingston (see full statement below). He announced last week that he was going into semi-retirement by taking senior status.

AUSTIN, Texas - Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Rodney Burrow, M.D., Eric Nichols, and Derrelynn Perryman to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice for terms set to expire on February 1, 2027. The board provides confinement, supervision, rehabilitation, and reintegration of the state’s convicted felons.
Rodney Burrow, M.D. of Pittsburg is the Director of Medical Affairs and Associate Director of Primary Care for Titus Regional Medical Center of Mount Pleasant. He is also a practicing Board Certified Family Physician at the Family Care Center in Mount Pleasant and a registered pharmacist.
