SPRINGFIELD, MO
.-The Springfield Art Museum announced the appointment of Kate Francis as Museum Affairs Officer for Development and Fundraising. Effective June 7, 2021, Francis will lead the Museums expanding annual fundraising efforts as a key member of the leadership team. In addition, Francis will work closely with the newly-created Springfield Art Museum Foundation, which aims - among other things - to complete funding for the Museums ambitious 30-Year Master Plan, already underway on the Museums grounds.

Lynyrd Skynyrd will co-headline the 2021 Concert for Legends Presented by Ford at 8 p.m. ET Monday, Aug. 9 in Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. The concert wraps up the 2021 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week Powered by Johnson Controls.
Tickets for the Concert for Legends Presented by Ford will go on sale at 10 a.m. ET Friday, May 7 and may be purchased at www.ProFootballHOF.com/tickets. Prices range from $75 to $285.

Baraka announced that the City of Newark is calling on Newark residents to share their feedback on proposals submitted by the five finalists selected to design the new Harriet Tubman Monument. Five critically acclaimed artists: Abigail DeVille, Dread Scott, Jules Arthur, Nina Cooke John, and Vinnie Bagwell, were chosen by a jury to submit their designs.

These are scenes from three paintings owned by the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, part of a batch of 10 European artworks obtained between 1933 and 1945 that FAMSF is now reviewing for their possible connection to Nazi-looted art.
The city’s largest arts institution, which oversees the de Young Museum and the California Legion of Honor, has in total some 100,000 pieces of art. It “stands as one of the most visited arts institutions in the United States,” according to its website.

The San Diego Air & Space Museum is remembering Michael Collins, the Command Module Pilot for the historic Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969 and a member of the prestigious International Air & Space Hall of Fame. Collins passed away on April 28, 2021. He was 90.
Since 1963, the International Air & Space Hall of Fame has honored the world’s most significant pilots, crew members, visionaries, inventors, aerospace engineers, business leaders, preservationists, designers and space explorers. Collins entered the International Air & Space Hall of Fame at the San Diego Air & Space Museum in 1971.
