On Monday, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) laid the groundwork for forcing doctors and hospitals to perform transgender surgery in the name of fighting “discrimination.” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra and Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine (a biological male who identifies as a woman) announced that HHS would adopt the Orwellian redefinition of “sex” to force transgender ideology in the medical field, mainstreaming the arguable chemical castration of children.
“The Supreme Court has made clear that people have a right not to be discriminated against on the basis of sex and receive equal treatment under the law, no matter their gender identity or sexual orientation. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced that the agency will interpret federal civil rights law to include a ban on discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, leading critics to say it could require hospitals and doctors to perform sex-change surgeries.Â
In an announcement Monday morning, HHS explained that it will interpret Title IXâs explicit prohibition on sex discrimination to include sexual orientation and gender identity.
Under the policy, HHS Office for Civil Rights will enforce Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act to protect âthe civil rights of individuals who access or seek to access covered health programs or activitiesâ and prevent discrimination âagainst consumers on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.â

The National Center for Health Statistics, a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention subagency, reported this week that Americaâs fertility rate dropped for the sixth consecutive year. Total births declined by 4% in 2020, down to 1,637.5 children per 1,000 women. The statistical replacement rate for the U.S. population, by contrast, is roughly 2,100 births per 1,000 women. Overall, the 3,605,201 births last year in the U.S. represented the lowest number since the Jimmy Carter presidency.
It is perhaps too early to tell whether yet another annual incremental birthrate decline is anomalous, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, or flows naturally from existing demographic trendlines. Sociologists and demographers will pore over the data, but it is difficult to ignore the broader trend and place the blame squarely â or even predominantly â on the virus and the myriad draconian lifestyle restrictions the virus engendered.
