Data from the CDC show that drug overdose deaths in the U.S. are at their highest level on record, soaring to more than 87,000 deaths in the 12-month period ending in September 2020.
While it is easy to become desensitized to numbers on a page, the pain is all too real for the families like ours who have lost loved ones to the disease of addiction.
