Angels Mike Trout out through at least All-Star break with calf strain By Zac Wassink | Last updated 6/28/21
It was reported last month that Los Angeles Angels superstar and three-time American League Most Valuable Player Mike Trout would be sidelined for six to eight weeks because of a right calf strain he initially suffered on May 17.
Trout s recovery timeline won t be shortened.
Per ESPN, Angels manager Joe Maddon told reporters ahead of Monday s game against the New York Yankees that Trout is on pace and on track as it pertains to his eventual return to the lineup but added that the 29-year-old will be out through next month s All-Star break.

The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Cleveland Indians on Monday night but lost something more valuable than a game in the process.
Los Angeles confirmed ahead of Tuesday s matchup with Cleveland that three-time American League Most Valuable Player Mike Trout is on the injured list with a right calf strain that forced him out of Monday s contest after the first inning. The Angels added the 29-year-old superstar will miss between six to eight weeks of action.
It s a brutal blow for a club that sits at 18-22 overall and fourth in the AL West standings despite the many contributions of Trout and two-way star Shohei Ohtani over the opening month and a half of the campaign.
