Angels Mike Trout broke down at news of Albert Pujols release

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout said he broke down a little bit upon hearing that his longtime teammate Albert Pujols was being released.
Aside from 40 games as a 19-year-old in 2011, Trout, a three-time American League Most Valuable Player, has played every full season of his 11-year career with Pujols. Trout said Pujols’ release was a surprise that “hit me a lot.”
The Angels designated Pujols for assignment Thursday. The future Hall of Fame first baseman is in the final season of a 10-year, $240 million contract.
