NEW YORK In an otherwise forgettable loss, there was one solid takeaway for the Yankees: Miguel Andujar didn’t embarrass himself in his first big-league game at first base.
“I thought he did all right,” manager Aaron Boone said following the 11-4 defeat at the hands of the Nationals at Yankee Stadium on Friday night, the team’s second consecutive loss.

Andujar had just one ball hit to him the first batter starting pitcher Jameson Taillon faced and assisted on 10 other outs. NEW YORK The Yankees might be putting a little pressure on Clint Frazier.
Miguel Andujar started for the second straight night in left field for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, collecting two hits, including a solo homer, on Wednesday night. He was hitless in four at-bats in the club’s season opener Tuesday.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone dodged a question about whether the struggling Frazier would be better off optioned to the minors where he could play everyday and not kill the big-league lineup. Frazier, hitting .143, had five hits in his previous 58 in 20 games since April 6. He didn’t start in Wednesday’s 6-3 win over the Astros, but worked a pinch-hit walk late in the game.
