He reached U.S. shores at around 10pm ET starting off in Florida and Georgia
As he flew into North American airspace, Santa was escorted by two Canadian CF-18s to help him along the way, according to NORAD s Santa Tracker
He will later be accompanied by F-15s, F-16s, and F-22s as he crosses the nation with help from the Secret Service
On reaching the U.S., Santa was seen flying over the National Mall in D.C. before zooming over the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building

LONDON, ONT. North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) has provided us with next level technology to track Santa Claus and his reindeer. The operation will be a little different this year because of restrictions. But, the pandemic won t stop NORAD from making sure Jolly Old Saint Nick safely navigates his way around the world. This is the 65th year NORAD is allowing kids to track Santa Claus. NORAD is a bi-national Canadian and U.S. command charged with aerospace and maritime warning and aerospace control of North America. Every year during the holidays, NORAD assumes the supplementary mission of tracking Santa as he travels around the world.

Children from across St. Lawrence County as well as the rest of the world can track Santa Claus’ progress online as they eagerly await Christmas morning.
The Santa Operations Center will provide live updates via a web site set up for the occasion at www.noradsanta.org, where children and parents can track Santa s movements on-line. The tracker does not show Santa s exact location on Apple Ipads and Iphones or other devices that do not have the Flash program loaded.
New York Air National Guardsmen from the Eastern Air Defense Sector will assist North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) in tracking the location of Santa Claus and his reindeer.
