India has reported over 3.29 lakh new COVID-19 cases and 3,876 deaths in the last 24 hours. More than 3.56 lakh people recovered from the infection.
India s active caseload currently stands at 37.15 lakh whereas 2.49 lakh people have succumbed to the contagion. Total COVID-19 cases in India currently stand at 2.29 crore and 1.90 crore people have recovered from the pandemic, as per the Union Health Ministry data.

The Karnataka government announced postponing the Common Entrance Test- 2021 following the postponement of the second pre-university exam this year. The exam will now take place from August 28 to 30, the government said.

Global tenders would be floated for procurement of COVID-19 vaccines and all steps shall be taken expeditiously to inoculate those between the 18-45 age group, the Tamil Nadu government said. Chief Minister M K Stalin has also ordered industries and medical departments to immediately set up more units to produce oxygen and procure it from steel plants located in other states and it should be brought to TN through trains.
