Green initiatives to create 1,00,000 daily wages jobs in 2021: SAPM Ameen Aslam says labourers are foundation to development of any nation and their role in society is crucial towards nation building

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam on Saturday paid rich tributes to the labourers and workers on World Labour Day.
The labourers were the foundation to the development of any nation and their role in society was crucial towards nation building, adding, “That’s why we are providing maximum daily waged jobs under massive plantation and green initiatives,” the SAPM said in his message on Labour Day. Amin said World Labour Day was celebrated in the memory of uprising of Labourers in Chicago back in 1886 where people used to pay homage and tribute to their sacrifices.

Memorandum of Understanding signed between Ministry of Climate Change and Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission with UNDP’s support
Islamabad, March 02, 2021 (PPI-OT): A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC), Government of Pakistan and Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission Pakistan (SUPARCO) with support from UNDP, in Islamabad today. Mr. Joudat Ayaz, Additional Secretary (MoCC)/National Project Director (GLOF-II Project) and Brig. Tahir Islam, Director SUPARCO signed the MoU, for the use of satellite imagery, received by SUPARCO from various satellites, in mutually agreed areas of application for climate change impacts in Pakistan. The idea is to get an overall clearer picture of the current glacial lakes and associated threats.

Plastic producers urged to manage waste
PM’s aide on climate change notes increase in consumption by 15 per cent

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has called upon the plastic producers to manage the menace of plastic waste in a sustainable manner, which is creating a havoc for the environment and public health.
Organised jointly by the Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) and the Pakistan Collect and Recycle (CoRe) Alliance, the day-long event aimed to discuss at length and frame responses to shared challenge of packaging waste and collection mechanism, drive performance improvements and, ultimately, strengthen collective action for sustainable collection and disposal of plastic waste in a scientific and environment-friendly way.
