PUTRAJAYA: Operations and activities of unity machinery such as Neighbourhood Watch (KRT), Voluntary Patrol Scheme (SRS), Perpaduan Kindergarten and Taska Genius Perpaduan in six states currently placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) have been temporarily suspended.
The National Unity Ministry, in a statement today, said that the directive is effective from Jan 13 to 26.
It said that KRT and SRS activities in the states subject to the Conditional MCO (CMCO) are also temporarily suspended, including any type of community activities as well as flood relief operations.

January 6, 2021, Port of Spain: The issue of abuse of older persons continues to be top priority for Senator the Honourable Donna Cox, Minister of Social Development and Family Services (MSDFS). This she disclosed during a meeting with Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, held earlier today at the Ministry’s Head Office on St Vincent Street, Port of Spain. According to the Minister, “There is no excuse for the abuse of older persons, particularly at Homes for Older Persons; and the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services stands ready to defend and protect the lives of older persons in Trinidad and Tobago”.
The reversal came following a direct order from Prime Minister Hun Sen.
According to a letter dated January 4 and signed by Council of Ministers permanent secretary of state Hing Thoraksy, the government has annulled its previous prakas, numbered 790, giving permission to carve out 15ha of the lake in Prek Phnov district which was to be used to construct new facilities for the Ministry of Rural Development.
The government also annulled prakas number 791, which would have carved out another 15ha of the lake to make way for the construction of new facilities for the National Committee for Disaster Management (NCDM), the Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC) and the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA).
