The Ministry had mandated the fitment of FASTag in M&N categories of motor vehicles with effect from 1 January 2021. FASTag mandatory from tomorrow midnight or get ready to pay twice the fee, says Nitin Gadkari
New Delhi: Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said the deadline for the implementation of FASTag would not be extended further, and the vehicle owners should immediately adopt the e-payment facility.
The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) on Sunday clarified that this has been done to further promote fee payment through digital mode, reduce waiting time and fuel consumption, and provide for a seamless passage through the fee plazas.
Construction of Bridge between Majuli & Jorhat Sanctioned by Central Govt
The construction will take 4 years and will cost 925 crores. The bridge will connect Kamalabari ghat of Majuli and Jorhat over the Brahmaputra river.

GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has sanctioned for construction of a major bridge over river Brahmaputra to connect the world s largest inhabited river island Majuli in Assam amounting to Rs 925 crore.
The work has been awarded to M/s UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd. The length of the bridge will be 8 km. The project is estimated to be completed within four years.
