EVEN with their general disensitization arising from the serial stories of sleaze over the years, Nigerians must have been left stunned with the recent revelation by the Office of Auditor-General (AuGF) on the spending habits of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources. According to the Auditor-General, the ministry expended N116 million on the supply of pens, letterheads and toners in a financial year. The findings were contained in the 2015 audit report presented to the Senate Committee on Public Account by the AuGF on Thursday, December 10. A rundown of the expenditure showed the disbursement of N14.5 million for the supply of Schneider biros, N46 million for letterheads and N56 million for toners.

BEVERLY HILLS, December 22, (THEWILL) – President Buhari said Nigeria has moved a step closer to the nation’s dream of attaining self-sufficiency in liquefied petroleum gas production through the full utilisation of the nation’s abundant gas potentials.
The President made this known on Tuesday at the commissioning of the Integrated Gas Handling Facility and LPG Processing and Dispensing Plants built and operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, an Upstream Subsidiary of NNPC in Oredo, Edo State.
Buhari noted that his administration would support the on-going drive towards providing alternatives to auto fuel under the National Gas Expansion Program initiative.

The federal government said yesterday that the Integrated Gas Handling Facility (IGHF) and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) processing and dispensing plants in Ologbo, Edo State, would generate $200 million in annual revenue into the country’s coffers.
“The lean gas can generate at least 267 megawatts of power per day and also ensure feedstock to gas-based industries. In total , the NPDC stands to generate revenue in excess of $200m per annum from the IGHF plant,” a documentary put together by the NPDC during the event showed.
Speaking during a partially virtual and physical ceremony to officially declare the over 200 million standard cubit feet per day project open, President Muhammadu Buhari said Nigeria has moved a step closer to the nation’s dream of full utilisation of its abundant gas potential.

Speaking Tuesday at the commissioning of the Integrated Gas Handling Facility and LPG Processing and Dispensing Plants built and operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company, an Upstream Subsidiary of NNPC in Oredo, Edo State, President Buhari also said the project has created hundreds of direct and indirect employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled youths in the area.
