Belarus, Uzbekistan sign action plan on cooperation in ICT Photo courtesy of Belarus Communications and Informatization Ministry MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - The Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan signed a plan of measures to develop cooperation. The document was signed by heads of the two departments during a working meeting on 31 May, BelTA learned from the website of the Communications and Informatization Ministry of Belarus. Communications and Informatization Minister Konstantin Shulgan and Minister for Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan Shuhrat Sadikov discussed issues of mutually beneficial cooperation in information and communication technologies (ICT) between the departments and signed a corresponding action plan (road map).

2020-12-11 12:06:13 GMT2020-12-11 20:06:13(Beijing Time) Xinhua English TASHKENT, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) The number of Internet users in Uzbekistan has exceeded 22.1 million, including over 19 million mobile Internet users, the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications said Friday. Uzbekistan plans to increase the number to 34 million Internet users and cover 95 percent of its population with a broadband mobile network in the next two years, according to the ministry. It added that about 20,000 km of fiber-optic cable lines would be installed by that time. Under the government project to construct communication lines, the country has already installed 55,600 km of fiber-optic cables.
