Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood on Wednesday chaired a meeting on technical and vocational education and training (TVET), the education ministry said.
According to the tweet, the education minister chaired the high-level meeting during which important stakeholders of the TVET sector were present.
During the meeting, a detailed overview of Prime Minister Imran Khan s special programme Hunarmand Pakistan was also taken, the education ministry said.
A day earlier, PM Imran Khan, presiding over a meeting, stressed the importance of vocational training and skilled manpower in socio-economic development and directed the federal and provincial institutions to formulate and present a joint comprehensive strategy.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education, Professional Training, and National Heritage Shafqat Mehmood has presided over a meeting on technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
According to the education ministry, Mehmood presided over the high-level meeting attended by important stakeholders of the TVET sector.

The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday outlined the country s vaccination strategy against Covid-19, revealing an eight-step process for registration and vaccination once the vaccines become available while also deciding that all educational institutions would reopen as per schedule.
The strategy was developed after consultation with all provinces and relevant stakeholders and was according to established international health guidelines, the NCOC said in a statement. The purpose of the strategy is to vaccinate people in a healthy environment and in accordance with health guidelines through a concrete plan.

ISLAMABAD: The newly introduced reforms in the civil service are like old wine in a new bottle as most of the key measures announced by the government to stop promotions and take punitive actions against delinquent civil servants were part of the laws introduced by former military ruler retired Gen Pervez Musharraf, observers say.

Dawn, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain said that the reforms of Gen Musharraf’s era were introduced through an ordinance or notified through the Establishment Division like routine business and parts of them were later struck down by courts. “This time the changes are in conformity with the Civil Service Act and other related laws,” he said.
