Environment Minister Steven Myers says almost half the money set aside for electric-vehicle rebates in the spring budget has been spent. The province is offering a $5,000 rebate on new or used electric vehicles, and $2,500 off plug-in hybrids. Myers said about 40 vehicles have been purchased so far. The budget allowed $500,000 for the program, but Myers said if that money runs out he will step up and ask for more.
