Two people were shot Tuesday afternoon inside a building at the PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center campus in central Vancouver.
The conditions of the man and woman were unavailable Tuesday evening; they had both been transported to the main hospital for treatment, Vancouver police Officer Ilia Botvinnik said at the scene.

First responders can sometimes be lost in the shuffle of COVID-19 concerns.
Hospital workers and those living and working in senior care facilities have, understandably, been at the forefront of thought over the last nine months.
PeaceHealth Southwest officials report Liliya Zagariya was shot while serving as a concierge
PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center officials have identified the caregiver killed in the Tuesday shooting at a nearby medical facility as 20-year-old Liliya Zagariya.

“Our healthcare community suffered a tragic and heartbreaking loss yesterday when one of our caregivers, Liliya Zagariya, was shot while serving as a concierge in the lobby of the 505 medical office building on our PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center campus,” read a statement from PeaceHealth Wednesday. “Our thoughts, support and prayers go out to her family. All of us grieve with them.”
Zagariya was one of two people who were shot Tuesday afternoon at a the medical facility in Vancouver. Both died of their wounds.

Two people who were injured Tuesday after someone opened fire at a Vancouver medical facility have died, officials said Wednesday.
A police spokeswoman said investigators believe the incident may have been a murder-suicide. The victims, a man and a woman, were not identified and did not appear to know each other, Vancouver police said in a statement.
“The incident appears random in nature,” police said.
Officers responded about 1 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of Northeast 87th Avenue at a medical facility across from PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, officials said in a statement.
