Smyths Toys have snapped up a new East Midlands distribution centre at Arrow Capital Partner’s Arrow248 warehouse on Midlands Logistics Park in Corby.
The private family-owned toy retailer has taken a long lease and will use the facility to support its continued expansion in the UK both on line and in store. Smyths has started fit out and looks to occupy in July. The new facility is close to its 500,000 ft2 plus warehouse at Max Park.
The new facility has 15 m clear eaves height, 22 dock (20 standard, 2 double deck) and three level access doors, as well as a 50 kn/m2 floor loading, 9 ton rack leg loading, and 1,050 KVA power supply. It has 197 car and 43 HGV trailer spaces and 50 m yard. It has an EPC A rating and has been built to achieve BREEAM Excellent.

Arrow Capital Partners has acquired two industrial sites in Monchengladbach in Germany on behalf of its European industrial and urban logistics real estate platform.
The manager has paid an undisclosed amount to buy the sites, on Dieselstrasse and on Daimlerstrasse for its €3bn Strategic Industrial Real Estate (SIRE) platform.
Arrow Capital said the assets were acquired from a private investor.
The sites have seven industrial units and include space for car parking and offices. They are currently let out to two logistics companies.
