Everything about their style and the manner in which they have grown over the years needs to be studied in the Business School of Comedy. Now let s take it back to the beginning, from the first time I saw Basketmouth on stage during the popular Nite of Thousand Laughs organised by Opa WIlliams in the late 1990s, I knew he was going to be one of the biggest in the country. At that time we already had Ali Baba as the king of comedy but there was something youthful and organic about Basketmouth that just oozed every time he climbed the stage.

Stakeholders raise concerns on new polling units in Edo

Benin – Stakeholders in Edo on Friday raised concerns about creation of 1,892 additional polling units by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state. The stakeholders raised these concerns during a meeting organised by INEC on the expansion of voter access to polling units in Benin. Mr Anthony Aziegbemi, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo, commended INEC on the proposed creation of additional polling units in the state. AAU holds Valedictory Thanksgiving, Commissions Campus Radio, Conference Centre

EKPOMA – The Vice Chancellor of the Ambrose Alli University, (AAU), Ekpoma-Edo State, Prof. Ignatius Onimawo has held a thanksgiving service at St. Gregory Catholic Church, Ekpoma, to celebrate the successful conclusion of his tenure as vice chancellor of AAU. Prof. Onomawo had earlier held a thanksgiving during the May edition of the Ambrose Alli University monthly Interdenominational Fellowship, known as AAU Prays, at the university campus. The thanksgiving service was the climax of activities lined up to mark the successful end of Five-Year tenure of the vice chancellor which officially comes to an end on Tuesday May 11, 2021. As part of the End of Tenure programme, a book titled: “Professor Ignatius Onimawo: Relentless Visionary & His Mission “, written by Dr. Emmanuel Egharevba, was presented, just as several projects, including the AAU Campus Radio and the International Conference/Students Centre, were commissioned.

ASUU, NASU Protest Non-payment of Accumulated Salaries in Edo

By Adibe Emenyonu Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and Non Academic Staff Union (NASU) of the Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma in Edo State yesterday protested against the nonpayment of their accumulated salaries, amid deployment of security ‎agents to maintain peace at the university. Members of the two unions adorned branded T-shirts and bore placards with various inscriptions to protest the half salaries they were allegedly paid from March to November last year and the four months’ salary they are being owed in 2021. Supported in solidarity by ASUU members from the University of Benin, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, and Niger Delta University (NDU), Yenogoa, the protesters also used the occasion to celebrate the exit of the Vice-Chancellor of AAU, Prof. Ignatius Onimawo, who formally handed over the administration of the university to the newly appointed acting Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Benson Osadolor.
