Alabama nursing students help give COVID-19 vaccinations

The Good Samaritan Clinic in Northport partnered with University of Alabama nursing students on Thursday to administer 100 doses of COVID-19 vaccinations.  The vaccines were administered in a one-day, all-day event at the clinic with a focus on the clinic s most vulnerable patients, said Lynn Armour, the Good Samaritan Clinic s executive director.  “We have been calling our most vulnerable patients and giving it to them today, Armour said. Patients who received their first dose of the vaccine at the clinic will return to the clinic at a later date to receive their second dose. Good Samaritan Clinic, 3880 Watermelon Road in Northport, is a non-denominational Christian ministry that provides free medical care for people who have no insurance and very little income. The clinic first opened its doors on June 8, 1999, according to its website, and has been staffed by volunteer doctors, pharmacists, dentists, nurses and others.
