Coronavirus cases surge in Mansehra after Eid

MANSEHRA: The number of coronavirus cases have surged in the Mansehra district after the Eid ul Azha as the district administration sealed the Bandi Syedain area of Garhi Habibullah following dozens of locals who contracted the virus were shifted to the health facilities.
“We have imposed a smart lockdown and started disinfecting the entire area as dozens of cases have been reported from this locality,” Assistant Commissioner Hasrat Khan, told reporters in Balakot on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner Qasim Ali Khan ordered the enforcement of the smart lockdown and disinfecting of the entire area after Covid-19 cases were reported from the Bandi Syedain and its adjoining areas.

MANSEHRA: A man was killed and his three children sustained injuries when the roof of the house collapsed in the Suo area of Upper Kohistan, officials said on Sunday.
“All those buried under the rubble of the collapsed house were retrieved but the head of the family succumbed to the injuries before he could be rushed to the hospital,” Iftikhar Khan, the deputy superintendent of police, told reporters.
The house, which had developed cracks during the recent rains in the district, collapsed suddenly as a result of which Habibur Rahman and his three sons were buried alive under the rubble.
