Mark Higham had been dining with his wife Lynne at a local restaurant in Wigan on the evening of August 27, 2020. Having ordered steak, Mrs Higham told Bolton Coroner s Court that her husband started to choke after eating between three and four mouthfuls. Mrs Higham slapped Mr Higham, 60, on the back, and did a finger sweep of his mouth to try and free the blocked food in the bathroom of the restaurant.
