NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has again tightened restrictions for residents in eight heavy-hit LGAs as her state recorded 239 COVID cases, a massive jump from the 177 infections seen on Wednesday.

New South Wales has recorded a staggering 239 new coronavirus cases, including 66 infectious in the community, and two additional deaths on a third consecutive record-breaking day.
The fresh local infections on Thursday mark the first time daily numbers have hit 200 amid the state’s latest outbreak of the highly contagious Delta strain.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian warned things are likely to get worse before they get better due to the high number of cases infectious in the community.
