President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday met with the released students of Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, in Katsina State.
This comes about an hour after the Personal Assistant on New Media to the President, Bashir Ahmad, made the announcement in a tweet.
The President who received the boys in company with the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, and some top Federal and state government officials, addressed them in Hausa language.
He thanked all those involved in the release of the students, especially the Federal and State governments, as well as the military.
Parents shed tears of joy as hundreds of Nigerian schoolboys who were abducted by Boko Haram were freed from their Islamist captors.
Freed after being kidnapped in an attack on their school, the boys were welcomed by the governor of Katsina state and Nigeria s president on Friday.
Emotional reunions with their parents began late in the day, Since this incident happened I have not been able to sleep, but now I can sleep, said Salisu Kankara, a parent of one of the schoolboys who was released.

KATSINA, Nigeria More than 300 schoolboys kidnapped last week in an attack on their school in northwest Nigeria have arrived in the capital of Katsina state in celebration of their release.
The boys were abducted one week ago from the all-boys Government Science Secondary School in Kankara in Katsina state village.
Nigeria’s Boko Haram jihadist rebels claimed responsibility for the abduction, saying they attacked the school because it believes Western education is un-Islamic, factional leader Abubakar Shekau said in a video earlier this week.

Abducted students back home after rescue
Dozens of kidnapped schoolboys are reported to have arrived back home today after security forces rescued them in northwest Nigeria. They had been among about 350 students abducted in a raid that had echoes of the infamous kidnapping of 270 schoolgirls at Chibok in 2014.
