The Defence Headquarters says the troops of Operation Hadarin Daji successfully rescued all 344 abducted students of Government Science Secondary School Kankara, Katsina State on Thursday following “credible intelligence.”
The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, John Enenche, said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja.
Mr Enenche said the rescue was in keeping to the promise by the military to ensure the safe return of all abducted students.
According to him, the students were rescued following credible intelligence by the gallant troops, with high degree of professionalism to ensure they were all rescued alive.
“The Military High Command commends troops of Operation Hadarin Daji including all security agencies for their dexterity.

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and the Governor of Zamfara Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle have reacted to a statement credited to the acting National Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr Yekini Nabena, alleging that a Northwest governor is behind banditry in the region.
Governor Tambuwal said that Mr Nabena must prove his allegation or be investigated. Governor Matawalle in his reaction congratulated parents of the released children and expressed regret towards Nabena’s comments.

Members of the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, led by its Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus yesterday joined hundreds of women and youths in Abuja to demand for the immediate and safe rescue of school boys abducted last week in Kankara, Katsina state by Boko Haram insurgents. The women and youths, who stormed the Presidential campaign headquarters of the PDP in Maitama, Abuja, displayed placards bearing such inscriptions as; “APC has failed Nigerians”, “Buhari has failed,” “Buhari, bring back our boys,” “Buhari values his cows more than human lives,” among others, declared time has come for the President to throw in the towel.
