Two sittings of Dáil planned for next week

Two sittings of Dáil planned for next week Updated / Thursday, 7 Jan 2021 12:47 The Dáil will return for two reduced sittings next week. TDs will gather in the Convention Centre on Wednesday and Thursday for a maximum of six hours but attendance will be limited to 45 TDs each day. The schedule was agreed at a cross-party meeting of the Dáil Business Committee this morning. Originally, the Ceann Comhairle and the Dáil clerk suggested that TDs gather only once per week for the rest of the month in order to tackle the pandemic. Opposition parties were vehemently against the measures, with Sinn Féin s Pearse Doherty saying any suggestion that parliament would sit for a half day per week during a national emergency was not on .
