COVID-19 scare returns to Noida, first death reported in three months

More than 16,000 get jabs on Day 1 for 45+ | Noida News

Noida/Ghaziabad: More than 16,000 people were vaccinated on the first day under the fourth phase of the drive in both districts. While Noida recorded an 82% coverage, for neighbouring Ghaziabad, the figure was a little over 66%. The vaccination drive for people above 45 years was conducted across 88 centres in Gautam Budh Nagar and 96 centres in Ghaziabad on Thursday. While Gautam Budh Nagar had a target of 10,000, Ghaziabad’s target was 14,000 for the day. In Ghaziabad, 7,811 people were inoculated under the fourth phase and in Noida 8,243 people got the shots. Four adverse event following immunisation (AEFI) cases were recorded in Ghaziabad. No such cases were reported in GB Nagar.

Rapido to provide free rides to and from Covid-19 vaccination centres in Delhi NCR

The ride-sharing player will provide free Rapido Auto rides to and from Covid- 19 vaccination centres for Delhi NCR citizens. It is offering a 100 per cent discount on rides up to ₹50 to all citizens in the region. “The initiative is aimed at providing a safe and accessible commute option to senior citizens eligible for vaccination across Delhi NCR,” it said. The announcement comes as the third phase of the vaccination drive begins today that includes people above the age of 45 years.

4 health centres to give jabs 6 days a wk from today | Noida News

Noida: Vaccination drive will be carried out six days a week at block-level government centres from March 15. Four community health centres will now inoculate people daily, except on Sundays, along with the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, and the District Hospital at Sector 30. The decision was taken after the additional chief secretary health, Amit Mohan Prasad, issued a directive on Saturday. The four health centres are in Bisrakh, Dadri, Jewar and Dankaur. These centres had been inoculating people on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays till now. “The directive was issued on Saturday with a view to reach out to maximum number of people, especially in the rural areas of the district and also to speed up the process. CHC Bisrakh, Dadri, Jewar and Dankaur will conduct the vaccination drive from Monday to Saturday starting March 15,” said Dr Neeraj Tyagi, district immunisation officer in charge of Covid vaccination, Gautam Budh Nagar.
