Health Department to hold mass COVID-19 testing camps on Wednesday and Thursday Restrictions under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure have been imposed in Kuruvattur, Chemanchery, Kayanna, Chengottukavu, Perumanna, Velom, Chelannur, Arikkulam, Thalakkulathur, Eramala, Chakkittapara and Olavanna grama panchayats in Kozhikode district where a daily test positivity rate (TPR) of over 25% for COVID-19 has been reported between April 12 and 18.
Only five persons will be permitted to attend public gatherings, including at places of worship, and weddings and funerals. Shahdol: At least six COVID-19 patients died in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol due to low pressure in medical oxygen supply, an official said on Sunday.
The incident took place at the Government Medical College Hospital in Shahdol on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.

The oxygen meant for industries will now be diverted for medical use due to the spike in coronavirus cases in the country. In a communication to all states, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said the central government-constituted Empowered Group-II has recommended prohibiting the supply of oxygen for industrial purposes by manufacturers and suppliers from April 22 till further orders, with exceptions of nine specified industries.
