Delhi: DDA working on making the riverfront accessible to public in a few years

Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has meticulously worked on rejuvenating, ecologically restoring, and making the riverfront accessible to the public.     According to a report, the Delhi government has set a three-year target for the river cleaning process between Wazirabad Barrage to Okhla Barrage. The 22 km-long rejuvenated urban riverfront will also have cycling tracks, walkways, eco-trails to wetlands, and a floodplain forest.

Representative Image HC grants more time to Delhi govt to file affidavit regarding regulation of online health service aggregators ANI | Updated: Mar 12, 2021 13:16 IST New Delhi [India], March 12 (ANI): The Delhi High Court on Friday granted more time to the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government to file a detailed affidavit in a contempt petition against it, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and others for not regulating online health service aggregators. A single-judge bench of Justice Najmi Waziri also posted the matter for April 7 after the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government sought time to place a fresh affidavit in the matter. The court had earlier asked the government to examine in pending legislation, there can be some measure of regulation of aggregators. The court had also asked it to clarify if all labs are being utilised by the Delhi government for conducting its COVID-19 tests.

This is the highest budget size presented by any Delhi government so far. Sisodia, who also holds the Finance portfolio, had presented a budget of Rs 65,000 crore in 2020-21. Continuing the focus on education, Rs 16,377 crore, one-fourth of the total budget has been allocated for the education sector. Sisodia said the healthcare budget for 2021-22 is Rs 9,934 Crore which is 14 percent of the total budget for the next fiscal.
