Arizona s job growth to outpace the nation for next decade

Arizona is expected to add nearly 550,000 jobs between 2019 and 2029, barring any further major economic or political disruptions, according to a study released May 6 by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity.
âTodayâs projections show Arizona is going to continue to lead the nation as a destination for employment and advanced industries,â Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, said in a statement. âWhat this means is more jobs for Arizona residents and more opportunity throughout our economy.â

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Doug Ducey Monday issued an Executive Order to meet surging job demand and support job creators throughout Arizona as employment opportunities grow and the COVID-19 vaccine is available for anyone who wants it.
Today’s Order rescinds a March 2020 Executive Order that waived the requirement that an individual receiving employment benefits must be actively looking for work in order to receive the benefits.
The Arizona Department of Economic Security will begin enforcing the reinstated requirement the week of Sunday, May 23.

The department released a report predicting the state’s 3.1 million jobs in 2019 will expand to a total of more than 3.6 million jobs by 2029. By those numbers, the state would experience a growth rate of 1.6 percent each year. It’s a slower growth rate than the one recorded between 2009 and 2019 at 1.9 percent each year. The state would still experience a higher growth rate than the national average, which is projected at 0.4 percent each year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Governor Doug Ducey lauded the report and acknowledged electric vehicle and manufacturing companies that have created facilities in Arizona.

PHOENIX, AZ The state of Arizona is expected to add more than 500,000 jobs over the next decade.
That s the summation of a report released on Thursday by the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity, which projects the Grand Canyon State will add 549,453 jobs between now and 2029.
Such an jump in jobs would represent a 1.6 percent increase, more than four times the national projection of 0.4 percent during the same timeframe, the office said.
