ITANAGAR: An Assam Rifles jawan was killed while two others were injured in an encounter with suspected members of the militant outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang-Yung Aung) in Arunachal Pradesh s Changlang district on Saturday. Officials of Arunachal Pradesh police have confirmed the incident while the defence officials said that they are collecting the details of the exchange of fire between the Assam Rifles troopers and the militants. According to the police, acting on a tip-off about the presence of armed militants near Longvi village, the Assam Rifles troopers launched a combing operation on Saturday morning

An Assam Rifles soldier was killed and two others injured in an encounter with suspected members of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang-Yung Aung) in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Saturday.
The district’s Superintendent of Police, Mihin Gambo confirmed the encounter and said the operation was continuing.
Officials said the Assam Rifles personnel had launched a combing operation at 8:30 a.m. near Longvi village following a tip-off about the presence of some armed men.

GUWAHATI: After a long wait, the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA-I) has released the two abducted employees of Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure limited.
Drilling superintendent Pranab Kumar Gogoi and radio operator Ram Kumar both employees of the Delhi based Oil exploration company- Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited were abducted by the banned outfit on December 21 at gunpoint from the Kumchaikha drilling site in Innao area of Arunachal Pradesh s Changlang district.
